Jeremy Merrill, JD, MBA
General Litigation Practice – Civil and Criminal
Jeremy maintains a general practice with a focus on representing clients in all phases of trial work, specifically civil litigation (personal injury, products liability, landlord liability, trip and fall, slip and fall, medical malpractice), criminal defense (felony drug possession, OWI, weapons charges, child endangerment, domestic abuse assault, sexual abuse assault), and appeals. In addition, Jeremy represents families in all stages of court-involvement, including DHS cases and adoptions.
Jeremy is an experienced litigator with years of experience in jury trials, settlement negotiation, and dismissal of criminal charges. Jeremy has obtained dozens of judgments in civil cases, the acquittal of clients at trial, dismissal of criminal cases due to lack of evidence, and reversal of criminal convictions before the Iowa Court of Appeals and Iowa Supreme Court.
Jeremy graduated with honors from Drake University Law School and has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Drake University School of Business and Public Administration.
Jeremy lives in Des Moines with his wife and son and their pets. When he is not busy representing clients, Jeremy enjoys riding his bike, running, working in the yard, and spending time with his family.
Jeremy is a member of the Iowa Bar Association, Polk County Bar Association, Iowa Association for Justice (Criminal Core Group), and a board member of Fuse DSM.
Jeremy is licensed to practice law in all state courts in the state of Iowa.
